Terms of Use

Anyone may browse the website or use the Tattvamasi app. To create an account, register for an event or make a donation, you must be 18 or older, or have a parent or guardian do it for you.

Your use of the website and app is also covered by our Privacy Policy.

• Give accurate, up-to-date information when you sign up, and keep it current.
• Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• Tell us right away at ayyappasamaaj@gmail.com if you think someone else has used your account.
• Do not use another person's name, or an offensive name, as your username.

You can close your account at any time by contacting us.

Tattvamasi is the Ayyappa Samaaj mobile app, available from the Apple App Store and Google Play. These terms apply to the app just as they do to the website, and your Ayyappa Samaaj account works in both.

The app store you download it from has its own terms, which also apply to your download. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its content; Ayyappa Samaaj is.

Please keep the app up to date. We may stop supporting older versions, and some features may need an internet connection.

Ayyappa Samaaj is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (EIN 45-1061428). Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We send a receipt for every donation; please consult a tax advisor about your own situation.

Donations are generally non-refundable. If you donated by mistake, such as a duplicate or an incorrect amount, contact us within 30 days and we will work with you to correct it.

By donating, you confirm you are authorized to use the payment method you provide. Payments are processed securely by Stripe, our payment processor.

Event dates, times and venues are listed in good faith but may change. Please check the Events page or your email for the latest details before you travel.

Many events take place at partner temples. When you attend, please follow the guidance of the host temple and our volunteers.

You agree not to:

• Break any law, or help anyone else do so
• Post anything offensive, harassing, misleading or disrespectful to devotees or any faith
• Access accounts or areas of the site you are not authorized to use
• Interfere with the website, for example with malicious code or floods of automated requests
• Use the website to send spam or unsolicited advertising

The text, photos, logos and other material on this website belong to Ayyappa Samaaj or to those who have allowed us to use them. You are welcome to view, print and share pages for personal, devotional and non-commercial purposes, with credit to Ayyappa Samaaj. Please ask us before reusing content for anything else.

Devotional information on the website is shared in good faith as general guidance. For your personal practice, please also seek the advice of your Guruswami.

We link to websites we do not control, such as temple sites and social media. We are not responsible for their content, policies or practices, or for any loss from using them. Please review their own terms and privacy policies.

The website and the Tattvamasi app are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We work to keep the website and app accurate and available, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of viruses, or that its information is complete or current. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ayyappa Samaaj, its board members, volunteers and service providers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including loss of data or profits, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website or app.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the website or app is limited to the amount you paid through them in the 12 months before the claim, or US $100 if you paid nothing. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

We may suspend or close an account, without notice, if it is used in a way that breaks these terms or puts other users or the website at risk. When an account is closed, the right to use it ends immediately.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

If you have a concern or dispute, please contact us first. We will try to resolve it informally and in good faith.

If you live in the European Union, you keep any protections given by the mandatory laws of your country.

• Severability: if any part of these terms is unenforceable, it applies as far as the law allows and the rest stays in effect.
• No waiver: if we do not enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
• Language: if these terms are translated, the English version applies in case of any difference.
• US law compliance: you confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo and are not on any US list of prohibited or restricted parties.

We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will try to give at least 30 days' notice on the website or by email. If you keep using the website after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
