Ayyappa Samaaj invites all devotees to the Grand Irumudi Puja, the culmination of this year's 41-day Mandala Mahotsavam. For devotees who have observed the Mandala vratham, this is the day the sacred Irumudi is prepared and offered. The Irumudi is the two-compartment bundle traditionally carried to Sabarimala, holding the ghee-filled coconut for Lord Ayyappa and offerings for the journey.

The day begins at 5:30 AM with Sankalpam and Sahasranama Puja. At 6:00 AM comes Kettu Nira, the ceremonial filling of the Irumudi, held in two batches followed by Paadha Yatra. The program then continues in this order:

- Ney Abhishekam, the sacred ghee abhishekam to Lord Ayyappa
- Namasankeerthanam
- Procession with Thalapoli
- Grand Thiruvabharana Alankaram, adorning the Lord with sacred ornaments
- Archana, Padi Paatu and Namaskara Shlokam
- Mala Visarjanam, marking the completion of the vratham
- Maha Mangala Aarathi
- Maha Prasadam

What to bring

• Deekshadharis: black, blue or saffron Dhoti (wear clothes for winter settings around it); arrive by 5:30AM to participate in the Sahasranama Puja
• Traditional dress for everyone joining the procession.
• Flowers or fruits for the puja, if you'd like to offer them.
