Ayyappan Thiruvabharanam

We are blessed to announce a sacred initiative by our Ayyappa Samaaj — the Thiruvabharanam Project, a devotional effort to offer a set of Abharanas (sacred ornaments) to Swami Ayyappan.

🌺 About the Project

The goal of this project is to create a complete set of Abharanas — crafted in gold, silver, and stone jewelry — to adorn Swami Ayyappan during special poojas and festive occasions. Along with this, we will design and build a traditional Abharana Petty (ornament chest) to safely store and preserve these sacred ornaments.

Once completed, devotees will have the blessed opportunity to carry the Abharanasin a ceremonial procession, recreating the divine Thiruvabharanamprocession of Sabarimala.

🌿 Inspiration from Sabarimala

In Sabarimala, the Thiruvabharanam(sacred jewels of Lord Ayyappa) are brought every year from the Pandalam Palace to the Sannidhanamjust before Makara Sankranti. The procession is a grand spiritual event — led by priests, accompanied by elephants, traditional drums (melam), and chanting devotees. It represents the Lord’s journey from His ancestral home to His divine abode, culminating in the sacred Makara Jyothi darshan.

Our humble project seeks to recreate this sacred tradition and allow devotees here to experience the same divine joy, unity, and bhakti.
